We have an exciting week scheduled for you between now and Christmas. To begin, the Library Friends will be having their annual Christmas pot-luck dinner on Thursday, December 18, from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm in the Library’s Community Room. If you are a Library Friends member or would like to be one, please join us! There will be white elephant gift exchange for anyone who would like to participate.

The Library will be closed from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Thursday, December 18, for the staff to have lunch together.

On December 19, we are having a Christmas Concert at the library from noon until 4 pm. Area singers and musicians will be performing Christmas music for your enjoyment. That same afternoon at around 4:30, we will be drawing to give away a beautiful Christmas basket. The value of the items in the basket is over $100. It would be a great gift for yourself or could be broken down into several gifts for you to give away. All it takes is a $1 donation to get your name in the drawing. Proceeds from this project will go toward the Henderson County Folk Festival.

On December 23, at 10:00 am, we will have a special program for the kids of Henderson County. Every child who attends will receive a free book.

The Library also has a couple of older computers that will be sold by silent, sealed auction. Bids will be accepted December through the 22nd. The winners will be notified on December 23.

The Library will then be closed on December 25 and 26 for the Christmas holiday. If you have any questions about any of these activities, give us a call at 968-3239.

Also, we would like to thank everyone who donated items for the Library Friends’ recent used book sale. We would like to extend a special thank you to the family of the late Hugh Don Johnson from Beacon, TN. They donated a large amount of books from his personal library for this sale.
