The Library Board will be meeting at the Library on Tuesday, September 30, at 6 pm.

 

Preschool Story Time will also be meeting on September 30, at 10 am at the library.

 

The Library Friends will be having a book sale on October 1-4 during library hours. This sale will consist of used books recently acquired from a book leasing company. Many are newer copyrights. Prices will be very reasonable as usual. If you have any questions, call the library at 968-3239.

 

The Library Book Club now has a link on the library’s web site: www.everetthornlibrary.org Click on the Book Club link that is the last one on the left. If you would like to participate in the discussion, click on the link for the Book Club Blog and leave your thoughts. A representative from the book club will also be posting the thoughts expressed at the Book Club meeting. Now, you can be a part even if you cannot attend the meetings!

 

The Library will be hosting a Showcase of Local Artists from October 24-November 1. We are looking for Henderson County residents who would like to display their own original framed artwork. This includes painting, drawings, and photography. If you would like to participate, please call the library at 968-3239.

The schedule of activities for the following week is as follows:

Thursday, September 19, the Library Book Club will be meeting at 1 pm in the Library Community Room to discuss “The Bean Trees” by Barbara Kingsolver.

Thursday, September 19, the Library Friends will be meeting at 5 pm in the Library Community Room to discuss their upcoming used book sale.

Saturday, September 20, the Library Teens will be having their monthly meeting at 1 pm in the Library Community Room.

Tuesday, September 23, Preschool Story Time will be meeting at 10 am in the Library Community Room.

Tuesday, September 23, Director Harris will be teaching a session on how to use flash drives at 5 pm in the main library. You do not have to register to attend this session; it is open and free to the public.

 

The winners of the gifts from the Library Friends booth are as follows:

Kimberly Webb won “The Giving Tree”.

Angel Elder won the set of Magic Tree House books.

Stacey Nowell won the $25 gift certificate to Books-a-million.
